2018 Registration Open!

Registration for the 2018 season is OPEN!

All families with an account on our ROSL website who have enabled the email communication option will receive updates when they are available. Changes for 2018:

Registration

Registration begins July 1st before each season. 

Registration July 1st through December 31, 2017

Eligibility for registration will be the same as in past years. The rulebook states:

Softball (page 10 of softball rulebook) - 
Player must meet one of the following to be eligible to play in ROSL:
1. The player, player’s parent, or legal guardian must be a full time legal resident of the City of Royal Oak, Clawson, Madison Heights, any ROSL participating city, or attend a school in either of those cities, either public or private.
2. The player must be the child or grandchild of an active manager, sponsor or director.
3. The player must be designated as eligible by the ROSL Board of Directors

Baseball (page 9 of baseball rulebook) - 
To be eligible to participate in in the ROSL, each player must meet at least one of the following criteria:
1. The player, player’s parent, or legal guardian must be a full time legal resident of the City of Royal Oak or Clawson.
2. The player must attend a school either in Royal Oak or Clawson, and be enrolled in school as of May 1st of the current playing year.
3. The player must be the child or grandchild of an active manager, sponsor or board member.
4. The player must be designated as eligible by the board of directors.

Registration January 1, 2018 through February 15, 2018.
The above eligibility requirements are suspended and registration is open to all residents regardless of residency.

Late registration begins February 16, 2018 to March 15, 2018.

Late Registration fee of $50 for any players registered during the late fee period.

Registration ends March 15, 2018.

Practices begin on or after May 1, 2018 with games scheduled from late May through July 2018. Exact schedules vary according to league and field availability. As a general rule, siblings in the same league are placed on the same team.

ROSL Tournament Teams Registration

At this time, ROSL Tournament Teams have not been selected for 2018. Please check this website and Facebook pages for updates soon. There will be two tryouts. One in the fall of 2017 and another around the time house teams tryouts take place. Registrants from another city who register during the January 1, 2018 through February 15, 2018 Open Registration time frame, are eligible to tryout at the April 2018 tryout date.

The following leagues are available to players who have reached the designated age as of May 1, 2018 of the playing year:

Tee Ball: open to boys and girls ages 5-7. This is a non-competitive league that introduces players to the fundamental elements of baseball with players batting the ball from a tee. Requests to play with a friend or on a certain team are honored on a space available basis. Practices are held one or two weekday evenings per week with possible Saturdays; games are generally scheduled Saturday morning/early afternoon. Fee is $65 per player.

Control Pitch: open to boys and girls ages 7-9; players aged 7 have the option of playing in Tee Ball or Control Pitch. This league continues with baseball fundamentals but introduces live pitching by pitching machines. Requests to play with a friend or on a certain team are honored on a space available basis. Practices are held one or two weekday evenings per week with possible Saturdays; games are generally scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Fee is $65 per player.

Freehan baseball: open to boys and girls ages 9-11; players aged 9 have the option of playing in Control Pitch or Freehan. This is the first level of regulation baseball with pitching being performed by the players. 9 and 10 year old players new to the league are placed on teams via a draft - we are not able to honor requests to play with a friend or on a certain team. Scores and standings are kept culminating in Playoff and World Series games. Practices are held two weekday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons. Fee is $90 per player.

Kaline baseball: open to boys and girls ages 12-13. This is the second level of regulation baseball with 12 year olds being placed on teams via a draft - we are not able to honor requests to play with a friend or on a certain team. Scores and standings are kept culminating in Playoff and World Series games. Practices are held two weekday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons. Fee is $90 per player.

Harwell baseball: open to boys and girls ages 14-17. This is our upper level of regulation baseball with 14 and 15 year old players new to the league being placed on teams via a paper draft - we are not able to honor requests to play with a friend or on a certain team. Scores and standings are kept culminating in Playoff and World Series games. Practices are held two weekday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons. Fee is $90 per player.

Freshman Fast Pitch Softball: open to girls ages 8-11 (11U). Players ages 8 and 9 have the option of playing Control Pitch baseball or Freshman softball. Requests to play with a friend or on a certain team are honored on a space available basis. Practices are held two weekday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons. Fee is $90 per player.

Junior Fast Pitch Softball: open to girls ages 12-14 (14U). Practices are held two weekday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons. Fee is $90 per player. 

Senior Fast Pitch Softball: open to girls ages 14-18 (18U). Practices are held two weekday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons. Fee is $90 per player.
